Here's the deal... Moms Who Golf is inviting you to submit ideas for our new company name. The winning name will be chosen and published in January, 2009. The person who submits the winning name will receive a $1,000 spending spree credit good for one year! All participants who submit thoughtful ideas will receive a 30% off code via email!
The name, MomsWhoGolf, does not connect with all of our patrons. Real moms -who golf- love our name and remember it, but non-moms (who make up the majority of our business) along with non-golfing gift shoppers, do not feel connected with our name. Also, surprisingly, men make up about 40% of our current customers. How connected can they feel?
So we’re looking for a new company name to reflect our audience of women and men and are willing to offer one great idea a $1,000 Spring shopping spree! So join our supporters and enter our "name the company contest." Give us your best shot for a new name. Extra credit for creative ideas!
The idea is intended as a way to kick-start the new company name and get people talking about us in a sluggish economy. And who knows? Maybe it will launch a new career for you too!

Some facts about our business to help your brainstorming?
60% of current customers are women, 40% are men (many are golf pros). Customers are asking for product categories in addition to golf. One key corporate goal is to build a community of resources for all newcomers to golf. Golf remains one of the most difficult sports to learn as an adult but there are best-practices to know and we will provide those resources.
36% of our revenue comes from non-golfing gift shoppers buying gifts for golfers.
One idea we like is to find a name that reflects the power of women and men who manage busy lives, careers and family. But then there are those pesky male shoppers!
Golf is one of the most difficult sports to master as an adult, especially to people who do not consider themselves an athlete. Our long-term plan is to become an excellent resource center to golfing newcomers.
