First and foremost, please take some golf lessons from a golf professional in your area. It is very important to learn from a trained professional. This will save you years of frustration.
Rule # 2 Only listen to your golf instructor about learning the game of golf. Your friends and significant others will try to teach you their bad habits.
Rule #3 Let your golf professional help you in selecting your first set of clubs. Depending on your budget the clubs can be a very good set of used clubs or brand new set.
Rule #4 Start learning the rules and etiquette of the game before playing. Also, your golf professional should tell you how to call and make a tee time, where the bag drop is located to drop off your clubs and how to use the practice facilities.
Rule #5 Have the golf professional introduce you to other ladies at the club to play golf with.
Rule #6 Have fun and enjoy the game.
Rule #7 is always to remember Rule #6. Golf is the best sport that lasts a lifetime. You are never too young or too old to learn. Get out there and get golfing!
